CLAUDIA TANZER-EMERGING ARTIST
Claudia Tanzer has deep faith, which is manifested in her art. She specializes in constructions and images of crosses, usually with some verse of scripture attached to them. Her only exposure to art was in high school at Vestavia Hills, Alabama and one year of Art studies at the University of Montevallo,Montevallo,Alabama. With no formal training, she was inspired to create crosses. She uses various media, fabrics and found old wood to do work with collage or sculptural feeling.
She currently has work at “Simply Stated” Memphis Artist gallery in Oak Court Mall. She has been work in the Stirring Gallery at Hope Church in Cordova. Her first exhibit was the “Art for Hope” show at the Pink Palace which is a fund raiser for the Hope House,a preschool for children infected with the AIDS virus.
She has a booth in 2008 Cooper Young Art Festival, September 13 in Cooper Young area of Mid town Memphis.
