Artwork inspired by what Jesus Christ did you me and you on the cross at calvary over 2000 years ago.
He is still very much alive in the hearts of his believers which I count myself as one.

Photos of Art for Hope Exhibit at Memphis Botanical Garden, NOv 12, 2009
Claudia Tanzer has deep faith which is manifested in her art. She specializes in constructions and images of crosses, usually with some verse of scripture attached to them. Her only exposure to art was in High school at Vestavia Hills, Alabama and one year of Fine Arts studies at the University of Montevallo, Montevallo, Alabama. With no formal training, she was inspired to create crosses. She uses sandpaper, sand, caulk, sawdust, burlap fabric, acrylic and watercolor paints to create these crosses on old fencepost wood. Her first exhibit was the 2007 Art for Hope House fund raising exhibit for the Hope House at the Pink Palace in which she sold five pieces of art. Hope House is a preschool for children infected with the HIV virus. Since her first exhibit she exhibited her work at Hope Presbyterian's Stirring Art Gallery, "Simply Stated" Memphis Artist gallery in Oak Court Mall, Collierville Christian Church, 2008 Cooper-Young Arts and Crafts Festival, 2008 Art for Hope Show at the Pink Palace and 2008 Artists Holiday Show. She has a home gallery where 2009 pieces are shown to interested patrons by appointment. She has started her business "Cross Art by Claudia" to exhibit and sell her art work and sell note cards and postcards of her crosses.

I will be exhibiting my artwork at this fundraising exhibit on November 12th from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
Art for Hope continues to be an important fundraiser to benefit the children at Hope House. Dedicated to serving the needs of children and families impacted with HIV?AIDS in the Memphis community.
